Nowata Country Club Member:
Our goal at Nowata Country Club is to provide the best possible membership experience for all our
members. To ensure that goal, the following policies are expected of all NCC patrons.
Behavior & Decorum
Members & non-members of NCC are expected to conduct themselves in a respectable & polite
manner at all times while on Nowata Country Club property. This includes, but is not limited to,
refraining from foul language, adhering to all federal, state, & local laws, and practicing generally
accepted rules of public decorum.
Dress Code
Proper attire is required for all activities at Nowata Country Club. This includes any activities on the
golf course or in the clubhouse. We define our requirement as generally acceptable golf attire. Golfers
must wear golf shoes or non-cleated shoes while on the course. Boots are not permissible for golf. For
men, sleeveless shirts, and tank tops are not allowed on the course or in the clubhouse.
Alcohol
Absolutely no private alcohol is allowed on the NCC property. Possession of private alcohol on club
property is a violation of state law. Violators will be removed from the property. Beverages are
available for purchase in the clubhouse bar.
Golf Carts
NCC policy is that anyone driving a golf cart must be at least 16 years of age. This policy includes all
carts, both club owned or privately owned. Private cart owners may allow children 14 or older to drive
their private cart, so long as an adult is in the cart at the time.
Golfers shall observe the 90 degree rule at all times, except when otherwise posted, and carts should
remain on the path when within 10 yards of any putting green.
Public Play
Non-members who live within a radius of 15 miles from the outer Nowata city limits may play golf by
paying green fees up to twice per calendar year. After that, any golf played aside from private
tournaments will require club membership.
Non-members who live beyond the 15-mile radius of the outer Nowata city limits have no limitation to
the number of green fee rounds available for purchase.
Trail Fees
Trail Fees are required for a member to use a private cart on our golf course. The fee is $200 per year,
due in full on January 1st. Members who have automatic withdrawal agreements have the option to
amortize this payment over 12 monthly installments. This agreement allows the paying member the
right to use any private cart which they have permission to use. It does not allow the paying member
to use a rental cart free of charge. Anyone using a private cart, even one being borrowed from a
friend, is obligated to this fee.
Example 1 – John Doe pays a trail fee to use his own private cart. Upon arriving for a round of
golf, John finds his cart is broken down. Since John has paid his trail fee, he may, without
additional cost, use his friend Joe’s private cart, provided he has Joe’s permission to do so.
Example 2 – Jim Doe has not paid a trail fee. His friend Joe has paid a trail fee and keeps a cart
at the club. Jim is NOT entitled to use Joe’s cart, regardless of whether he has permission from
Joe to do so, until Jim pays a trail fee.
Guests of Members
Social guests of members are held to a similar standard as local green fee players. Non-member guests
may frequent the clubhouse/bar up to twice per year, after which time membership will be required.
Non-member guests must be accompanied by the member who invited them.
Winter Golf
Freezing temperatures and frost present a significant threat to the health of our greens. To protect
them, we have a general practice of closing the course to golf play when the temperature is lower than
45 degrees. This allows our greens to warm to an acceptable temperature following overnight lows
below 32, which create frost. Occasionally, circumstances may arise to allow play at temperatures
below 45 degrees, such as when overnight lows have not dropped to threatening levels, but we feel
like 45 degrees is a good point of reference for our club.
